PackanewsThe Pack-A-News is the monthly newspaper for the Packanack Lake Community Association and was first published in 1942. It’s purpose was to keep members informed of all the activities and news to the community. The Pack-A-News has two predecessors – the “Pac and Nac Monthly News” and “Packanack Life”. Packanack Life was published from January 1938 until July of 1942, whena shortage of slick, coated paper caused by World War II forced a suspension. In November 1942, Pack-A-News was started. The monthly paper is run, edited and sponsored by resident volunteers. Originally financed by advertising and individual subscriptions – in 1945 is was voted by the membership to have the Club include a subscription as part of annual dues. Since 1945 the paper is mailed to all members.
